Our house is the brick on the right in the picture. To the left, in the low ground, is plot 'FrontNorth', as north is stage left. This plot is full sun. It will have two small deciduous trees, a Mount Royal Plum (Prunus domestica) and a Dolgo Crabapple (Malus domestica), as well as the two cedars (Thuja occidentalis) standing over the incoming forbs.

Moving stage right, we see plot 'FrontHydrant', a full sun site. It has Gazanias and Shasta Daisies just planted. Several kinds of volunteer plants are showing, too, and will be identified shortly. Soon this plot will have a Macfree Apple (Malus pumila) and an M604 Apricot (Prunus armeniaca) overstory.

With the plot 'FrontHydrant' at stage right in the picture, the plot 'FrontCentre' is at stage left. It is a full sun site also. with several volunteer grasses and others already showing. It will also have a Reliance Peach (Prunus persica) added to Montmorency Sour Cherry (Prunus cerasus) already planted, in its overstory.

Standing the plot 'Frontsouth', we see the other three front plots. This full sun plot will eventually have an overstory of Flemish Beauty Pear (Pyrus communis) and Scout Apricot (Prunus armeniaca).

In the backyard, on stage left, are two plots, namely shady 'BackNorthEast' farther away and sunny 'BackNorthWest adjacent to the patio. To stage right are the two plots shady 'BackSouthEast' (at the back) and sunny 'BackSouthWest' (at the front).

At the fence line, looking over the four plots shown in the previous picture, is the plot 'BackSouthFence' partly shady and partly sunny. It may be a candidate for a hedgerow with shade tolerant plants at one end, grading to partly sunny plants adjacent to the pool.
